Old World Meets New World: The Story of Tanika and Daniele's Winemaking Journey
We were drawn to the breathtaking beauty of the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge and the rustic charm of the Swartland. We found ourselves captivated by these two remarkable wine-growing regions; these lands ignited their shared passion for winemaking. Through these diverse terroirs, we discovered not only the depth of our love but also a profound connection to the soil beneath our feet.
‘Wines of Place’ is a concept both simple and profound—rooted in intention and a deep appreciation for South Africa’s unique wine-growing regions. Each vineyard site we chose, holds its own distinct character, shaped by ideal microclimates for specific cultivars.
Here, terroir is the poetry of our craft, where expression sings, and each vineyard tells its story—year after year, vintage after vintage.
- Two distinct wine-growing regions.
- Two unique expressions.
- One shared vision.
To present an authentic interpretation of Chenin Blanc from Swartland and Pinot Noir from Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge—a transparent showcase of their unique characteristics. Wines that speak of place, honouring their individuality with clarity and elegance.

Pinot Noir
Perched at the highest point of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge enjoys a unique cool microclimate, defined by significant temperature shifts between day and night. The nearby Atlantic Ocean delivers refreshing breezes, creating ideal conditions for crafting refined, complex wines. Nestled among mountains, the region’s varying elevations and exposures allow for distinct expressions, each bottle capturing the land’s unmistakable character.
Our Pinot Noir offers a sensual bouquet, like pheromones; gently opening up to floral earthy notes. Smooth, spiced and structured with silky tannins. A minimal intervention wine with focus on infusion rather than extraction. Elegance, energy and emotion.
